Canada takes first two games of 2022 Super Sixes

OSHAWA, ON- Canada's Super Sixes squad was triumphant on Friday night, defeating England and the Haudenosaunee in the opening matches of the 2022 World Lacrosse Womens's Super Sixes event.

 

Canada opened the evening with a 10-6 win over England at the Oshawa Civic Recreation Complex. They would go on to defeat the Haudenosaunee 23-4. 

 

Erica Evans (CAN) and Emilie Chandler (ENG) were named players of the Canada/England game, while Kameron Halsall (CAN) and Fawn Porter (HNL) were named players of the game in Canada/Haudenosaunee. 

 

Against England, Erica Evans and Megan Kinna, both members of the summer's World Games championship-winning Sixes team, put up two-goal performances. Dylana Williams, Skylar McArthur, Bianca Chevarie, Shonly Wallace, Annabel Child, and Alex Matsuoka were the other goal scorers. England Captain Megan Whittle had 3 goals, while Anna Neville, Ella Cohen, and Julie Wise had one each. 

 

Against Haudenosaunee, Shonly Wallace put up a six-goal performance. Annabel Child had three, while Milana Zizakovic, Erica Evans, Megan Kinna, Dylana Williams, Skylar McArthur, Zoey Kruger, and Alex Matsuoka had two a piece. 

 

The action continues tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET with England versus Haudenosaunee, Canada versus England at noon, and Canada versus Haudenosaunee at 2 p.m. ET.
