The Canadian Lacrosse Foundation is pleased to announce that the Legends of Lacrosse video series will air episodes for it’s fourth year in 2023. The project will feature video and podcast interviews with some of Canada’s most dynamic lacrosse builders, coaches and players. The purpose if the project is to capture the personal stories of those that have shaped the game over the last 80 years.
The first interview of the new season will air on Wednesday, January 11 and new episodes will air weekly through July. Alongside features of great players, coaches and builders of the Creator’s Game, there will be special features— like the story of Canada’s first women’s national team in 1982, and retrospectives on Jim Bishop and Wayne Finck.
Jim Burke, CLF chairman, is excited to bring the fourth year of the project to the community.
“Over the past few years, the Canadian Lacrosse Foundation has been involved in a project to capture the oral history of individual lacrosse experiences from players, coaches, officials, and administrators in our game. At the same time, we have been able to develop stories of historical lacrosse events through interviews from participants in the events.
“In conjunction with the various Lacrosse Halls of Fame, we are pleased to continue this project for an additional year to expand our collection to all sectors, genders, and geographic locations across Canada. These interviews have been viewed by many lacrosse enthusiasts in Canada and throughout the lacrosse community in other countries.
“We hope you will enjoy our efforts to document the experiences on individuals who have excelled at the sport through the years or have helped with the growth of the game.”
